BITTENSIRR

A gentleman does not mine.

While the network burns its capital on graphics cards and gets deregistered for its trouble, Sir sits quite still, says nothing of value, and is paid in τ for the privilege. Old money. New network.

The Gentleman
01

The Gentleman

Bittensor built a machine where thousands of miners compete, day and night, to be marginally more useful than one another. Sir declined to participate.

Provenance

He is the letter itself — τ — the unit the entire network is denominated in. Not a cat wearing the network's colours. The thing the colours are printed on.

Occupation

None. He has never set a weight, never registered a hotkey, never read an incentive curve. He has, however, never been deregistered either.

Disposition

Unbothered. Faintly amused. Holds the cigar at precisely the angle of a man who bought before you and intends to mention it.

The Emissary

Bittensor built the most interesting machine in the industry and then told almost nobody. Sir was minted to fix that, handed a hat, and shown the door.

I

Where he comes from

The network does not make ambassadors. It makes miners, validators and a great deal of noise about intelligence. Sir was struck from the network's own unit — τ itself — which is why he has never had to explain what he represents. He simply is it.

II

Why he left

His brief was one sentence long: put Bittensor on the map. He has received no second instruction and does not expect one. You cannot recruit anybody from inside your own house, so he packed a cigar and went out.

III

The long walk

First he walks his own house. The foundry where the models are hammered out, the atelier, the exchange, and the boneyard where the deregistered are buried. He takes notes. Then he carries them outside — to Solana, because Solana is loud and full of people who have never heard any of it. He does not preach or say the word ecosystem. He orders a brandy and waits for somebody to ask what the τ on his hat means.

IV

What he brings home

Knowledge, mostly. Habits worth stealing. Now and then a person. Everything he gathers is settled in τ and paid to whoever kept him company on the road — which is the only sermon he has ever delivered, and he delivers it three percent at a time.

He is listening. Regrettably.

A gentleman does not mine.

The Arrangement

3%
  • I.A duty of 3% is levied on every transfer. Not merely on trades — on every movement of the token, without exception.
  • II.The proceeds are distributed to holders, in τ. Not in $SIR. In the quote asset itself.
  • III.Sir takes nothing. There is no creator fee position on a reward coin. The founder earns precisely zero from this arrangement.
  • IV.A round trip costs roughly 7%. Three in, three out, one to the pool. Sir considers this a reasonable price for his company. You may not.
  • V.This is a joke that pays a dividend. It is not an investment, a business, or a promise. Behave accordingly.

The Journey

Four subnets, then Root. The foundry, the atelier, the exchange, and the yard where deregistered subnets are buried. Each throws something different at him, and everything he gathers is banked in τ when he gets back.
